November 1 kicks off a thirty-day writing frenzy held all over the world called National Novel Writing Month — hundreds of thousands of participants attempt to write a 50,000 word novel in just one month.

I’ve participated for several years — there are all kinds of nifty tools that get you excited about your work in progress. I wrote a good chunk of my first novel, Fifteen Minutes of Shame — a romantic comedy about a TV dating expert who gets dumped on national TV (fiction, I promise!!) during NaNoWriMo, which not only went on to be published, but also won an RT Award.

UPDATE: Jon is Being Sued By TLC

MSNBC is reporting that TLC has sued Jon Gosselin of Jon & Kate Plus 8 for breach of contract.

According to the MSNBC article, the TLC lawsuit filed Friday alleges that Gosselin “in violation of his contractual exclusivity” to Jon & Kate Plus 8, “entered a lucrative arrangement to appear regularly on ‘Entertainment Tonight’ and its companion show, ‘The Insider,’ to discuss his family and the problems he was having with Mrs. Gosselin, and he routinely sold photographic rights to various media outlets ….”

Bad news for Jon Gosselin, who just received some more bad news earlier this week…

UPDATE: Jon Must Give Back the $180,000

The AP is reporting that Jon Gosselin has been ordered by Montgomery County Judge Arthur R. Tilson to return $180,000 in marital funds by Oct. 26 or he’ll face contempt charges for violating the arbitrator’s order.

In addition, the arbitrator will be reviewing Kate’s finances as well– specifically the $55,000 she claims to have spent on child-related and household expenses.

The AP article states, ” ‘As difficult as this has been for me, I am pleased that the court has ruled fairly on behalf of myself and my children,’ Kate Gosselin said in the statement her lawyer released. ‘Now that this matter has been ruled on, I look forward to returning to private arbitration, as we have agreed to do, to resolve any remaining issues’.”

UPDATE: Jon and Kate Plus Eight Will End in November

A New York Post article reports that a representative from TLC has stated that the Jon & Kate Plus Eight show will end in November.

Originally, TLC’s new Gosselin spinoff, Kate Plus Eight , which will focus on Kate’s life as a single mom of the eight children has been pushed back to late November instead of November 2 as originally planned.

This change is likely coming as a result of Jon and Kate Gosselin’s acrimonious divorce proceedings, and the fact that Jon Gosselin has suddenly had a change of heart about the well-being of his children if they continue to be on a reality show.

This change of heart came shortly after Jon learned the news that he would not have a significant roll in the new show.
